So I thought I'd update the ice conditions again, as we've been getting an influx of called regarding ice-out.
There still seems to be plenty of ice on the lake. However, the bug river, as well as the Chukuni River (where the bridge is) is open a fair bit. We're still optimistic that the ice will be out by the opener, especially if we continue to get nice weather. It has been getting around 8 degrees C for the past couple of days, and it is only looking to get nicer, with a forecast of 15degrees on Saturday. It still gets below freezing at night, but is looking to stay above freezing by the weekend.
It's hard for us to tell you at this time what the ice will do, and when. We still have a good two weeks before the opener. With some nice days, and some wind, it could be off in no time.
On the other hand, it could very well take its time. We respect our guests and would not string you along. At this time, we feel it would be premature to cancel our opening week. We encourage you to keep in touch, and should the time come when we feel the ice will not be off in time, we will make it our first priority to inform you.
Again, please don't hesitate to give us a call (807)727-2671 if you wish to speek to us about this matter.
